Hey! Your blog is inspiring and you look great. I'm on tumblr so I don't know if you have a link that addresses this, but what workouts do you do?
I mix my workouts up all the time so I dont get bored. I lift weights alot, because thats what I love to do. But I also do bodypump classes, run, hike, swim, do the stairmaster, elliptical, etc. Mixing it up also helps to “confuse” your muscles so that they dont get used to one particular kind of exercise. Which in turns helps transform your body even more. :)
I know this isn’t “fitness” related - but I am trying to get the word out as much as possible and I know I have some AMAZING followers on here.
I started a charity called operation ELF last year when my best friend was murdered as a way to remember and honor him. We put together complete christmas packages for needy families so that they are able to have a less stressful holiday season. Each package has a christmas tree, presents for the kids, dinner and decorations.
Last year we were able to help out ten families but I would LOVE to either double or triple that this year.
PLEASE help get the word out by reblogging this and donating on the online site. EVERY DOLLAR HELPS. Even the smallest donations make a huge difference.
You've started directly with weights at the gym? I heard first we have to get rid of fat through aerobics, pilates, etc. and then is allowed to start lifting weights. How did you do?
Eeeeek no!!! You know how people lose a ton of weight and look all flabby? THAT’S WHY! Muscle burns more calories than fat when you’re doing absolutely nothing - so the more muscle you build the better
Your metabolism will be. Definitely start out doing quite a bit of cardio but incorporate lifting as well. That way when you lose the fat your already toning what’s underneath AND you’ll lose the weight faster!
From beforeandafterfatlosspics: Hi, is that recent before and after of you? If it is would it be possible for you to write a few words on how you lost the weight, (it would be so inspiring to my followers) and then contact me once you've done that so I can reblog your picture. Alternatively you can submit your picture and I'll post it from my blog. Thank you and congratulations on your AWESOME progress :)
Sure :) and yes, it is recent.
I got to 265 after some major partying and then having a baby. I made the decision to lose weight about a year and a half ago and have since lost 85 lbs. I refuse to do any “plan” or “fad diet”, I stick to the basics. Eat healthy. Lots of veggies, complex carbs, lean protein and fruit. I don’t eat anything processed, fried, full of sugar, etc. your diet is the key to your success. I also put some major time in at the gym. Usually 5-6 days a week. I lift heavy weights (they don’t make u bulky like everyone thinks), do bodypump classes, hike, run, and use cardio machines (elliptical, treadmill, stairclimber). The biggest thing I’ve learned is to be patient. If you continue to do what your supposed to do, the weight WILL fall off. Just stick with it. Hope this helps :)
